STM Hotel

The challenge set by the city of Montreal was to recycle the STM’s orange line railcars.

The idea was to create a unique hotel, with each car transformed into a room and each designed by a Montreal artist.

A historical tour was planned throughout the floors, recounting the history of the metro over the years.

All the carriages would have been encased in an enormous glass cube, allowing a view of the activity inside.

A very ambitious project, but one that could have become one of Montreal’s strongest symbols.

A restaurant and bar on the roof, stores and services for the public on the ground floor – nothing was forgotten in this superb project. https://sivamarketing.ca/myportfolio/bv-design/
