Chef George Bahdi Par wanted a space that showcased the furniture, was easy to access and made you feel at home. For practical reasons, we decided to separate the bar, kitchen and restaurant, while maintaining access between them. To achieve this, we didn’t need to touch the load-bearing wall, so we had to adapt to the existing architecture to realize what we had imagined. Each piece of furniture was made to measure, to fit into the space as practically and optimally as possible. The countertops were designed with wine and bar display cases. The latter were made from white oak wood to balance the black stone walls. Finally, to create a warm, chic atmosphere, we clad the restaurant walls in wood.

Chicounou is a quality restaurant where the majority of products are home-made by the chef himself, his mother and grandmother. Come and enjoy quality dishes in this woodsy, welcoming environment.

Georges has a real passion for cooking. At the age of 11, he spent his free time in a small Brussels restaurant run by his mother. He worked with her on the cuisine of his homeland, gradually discovering the world of taste that would become his profession.

He studied at the Ecole Hôtelière de Namur (EHPN).

After an internship at “Comme chez soi” and “Château de Namur”, he worked for a few months as second in a large French brasserie in St Tropez.

Back home, he worked with his mother and grandmother, both passionate about Lebanese and Syrian cuisine, in a Lebanese snack restaurant.

In 2010, he launched the “BEO Orignal” organic caterer and sandwich shop. The business was a great success, and his growing following persuaded him to open his first resto-bar.

C’chicounou® is a tapas bar unlike any other: Georges has chosen to introduce us to the cuisine of his origins, revisiting tradition and adapting it to European culture… He works with top-quality products.

All preparations, such as beef jerky, cheeses, mortadella, etc., are homemade by the chef himself, his mother and grandmother.

For the bread, he chose to buy from João Martins “Le bon pain”. Organic bread of the highest quality.
